Urban acupuncture is a method of activating the urban environment, which was proposed by the Spanish architect and urbanist Manuel de Sola Morales. As in Chinese medicine, the "sick body" of the city is activated by "acupuncture" - targeted interventions in places where local resources are concentrated. 

Cultural acupuncture operates on the same principle and uses socio-cultural technologies and artistic gestures as a reagent.
